This is how our house starts almost every day! We've had this smoothie for years and even the littles will drink it up! It is so R E F R E S H I N G! And full of life-giving nutrition!
I recently heard someone say that every bite that passes her lips she considers whether that food is bringing "life" or "death" to her cells. I thought this was an positive and interesting practice. I do believe in balance, but I think I would do well to be more mindful in the way that she is. When we remember that there is a chemical reaction taking place, on a cellular level, it is really motivating to be more selective with what we allow inside our bodies. You are worth taking care of. I don't who needs to hear that today, but someone does!
YOU. ARE. WORTH. TAKING. CARE. OF!
Let me know if you like this smoothie! Oh! And also, you can leave the peanut butter out if you want it to be lower in calories, but it does give it a creamy/smooth texture. Another option in order to get that creamy texture would be to leave off the peanut butter and instead add 1/4 an avocado. You'll get the same result without a peanut butter flavor. ;)
Ingredients:
1 banana
2 cups of raw spinach
1 cup frozen mango
1 tsp peanut butter
1 cup of soy milk (any plant milk would work)
1 cup of ice
1/2 cup of water
*1 scoop of vanilla protein powder (optional but delish and a good protein punch to start the day!)
Directions:
Throw it all in a high-speed blender (I LOVE my Vitamix blender and highly recommend it if you blend a lot - they sell them at Costco) and blendy-blendy!
I drink this over the course of the whole morning as it makes a huge serving!
That's an accurate picture - pajamas and bed-head sippin' my green smoothie! Cheers to authenticity! Happy greens friends! Have a BEAUTIFUL day!
